Apple New Launches

Apple have launched iPhone SE and a new version of its iPad Pro.

The iPhone SE is short for "special edition". It is a smaller version of the iPhone and will sport a 4-inch screen size like iearlier model iPhone 5S, but will be powered by the processor of iPhone 6S. It has a 12MP iSight camera, as well as panorama up to 63MP. It can capture live photos and 4K video. The release ensures that Apple is a stronger competitor in the low-priced, mid-performance phone space, very popular in crucial smartphone markets like and China. The 16 GB 'SE' model is priced at $399 which roughly translates to ₹26500 and has been billed as Apple's cheapest ever smartphone.

Apple has also launched new  operating system 'iOS 9.3' which can be downloaded immediately on Apple devices.

The smaller version of the iPad Pro was also released. It will have the same 9.7-inch screen as the current iPad. The 32 GB version is priced at $599, roughly ₹40000.

The company also announced that their operations run on 93% renewable energy; they also claim that the iPhone can be used to diagnose autism in children.

Researchers Break Apple’s Encryption

Researchers at Johns Hopkins University (JHU), led by Matthew D. Green, have found a bug in Apple’s encryption. It can allow a skilled attacker to decrypt secure photos and videos sent as messages which is a shock for Apple.

The flaw might not have been used by the FBI to recover information on the San Bernardino terrorist’s iPhone, but it proves that encryption isn’t fool proof.

Green is a cryptographer and said that a court compelling Apple to undo its own security makes no sense as there are already bugs which can be exploited. He said, “Even Apple, with all their skills — and they have terrific cryptographers — wasn’t able to quite get this right.”

Green’s team of graduate students will publish a paper describing the bug as soon as Apple issues a patch for it.

Green said that it’s frightening that “we’re having this conversation about adding back doors to encryption when we can’t even get basic encryption right.”

This shows that the world of technology is nt tht safe. Even the experts fail to make it secure. So be little aware before u share ur personal stuff over any any social network.

Wire Messenger

The co-founder of Skype, Janus Friis, is now head of a new start-up called ‘Wire.’ Wire is a 50-person start-up handling a messenger service which promises end-to-end encryption.

The app also encrypts video -no one else's done that yet. The company said that Facebook's Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram, Threema and Signal only encrypt parts of a message or for a few services. The Switzerland based company stores user communications on its own computers and its privacy protections are always on even on multiple devices.

Wire has received financial backing from Iconical, but has not disclosed how much funding it has received exactly.

One important point to know is that there’s no advertising in Wire. The app is a very clean one and has a more dynamic and ethereal interface than most messengers.
